Jeddah, 11^th March 2025:  The Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomes the historic decision of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) to reinstate the membership of the Syrian Arab Republic, as adopted during the 20^th Extraordinary Session of the CFM held on 7 March 2025.
The decision taken by the CFM reflects the collective will of the OIC Member States to support the Syrian people in playing an active role in advancing the aims and objectives of the OIC Charter.
The Commission reaffirms its commitment to engaging constructively with the Syrian Arab Republic in upholding human dignity, protecting human rights, and promoting fundamental freedoms in line with universal human rights standards and principles and values of Islam.
